Starting in 1999, John established a manufacturing and retail business in Shanghai. Since then, he has played a key role in promoting UK-China trade and investment, fostering people-to-people exchanges and strengthening bilateral relations.

A Chartered Accountant who began his career with PwC in London and New York, John has served as CEO, Chair, and NED of several listed and private companies. His leadership focuses on business change and growth with a particular expertise in China.

John is the Senior Advisor to the CCCUK and Chair of the IoD City of London, holding various advisory roles for FTSE Women Leaders and UK-China exchange programs. In 2014, he was awarded an OBE for his contributions to British business and civil society.
