On 11 September, Tracy Cheng, CEO of Transphere Consulting, accompanied Chen Renfeng, Chairman of Huasai Energy, to a business reception held during the visit of Finland’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Sakari Puisto, to China. They met with Minister Puisto, the Finnish Ambassador to China, and representatives from Finland’s government and industry to discuss Huasai Energy’s advanced energy storage technologies and their potential application in Finland, including project development, technology validation and local partnerships.

Huasai Energy is a leading Chinese company in compressed air energy storage (CAES). Its core R&D team has strong roots at Tsinghua University, and the company has established a joint research centre with Tsinghua University’s Department of Electrical Engineering focusing on flexible CAES technologies.

Transphere Consulting is supporting Huasai Energy’s project development in Finland, with a focus on local opportunities, partnerships and stakeholder engagement.

Tracy Cheng, CEO of Transphere Consulting, visited BSI China and met with Dr. Tatiana Schmollack-Tarasova, Managing Director, Greater China at BSI. The two sides discussed how standards, certification, management systems and compliance are becoming increasingly important for Chinese companies expanding into international markets, as well as potential areas of future cooperation.

BSI is the UK’s National Standards Body and a global organisation specialising in standards, management systems, audit and certification, and training. Discussions covered areas including AI and digital compliance, data governance, energy management, sustainability and the role of system-level compliance in reducing risk and strengthening trust with international partners.

As Chinese companies enter Europe and other overseas markets, regulatory requirements, technical standards, certification frameworks, data governance and sustainability expectations increasingly need to be considered as part of the market-entry process. Transphere Consulting and BSI explored how market-entry strategy, local stakeholder engagement and project development could be combined with BSI’s expertise in standards, certification and compliance to support more structured and sustainable international growth.

Transphere Consulting accompanied USEM on a visit to the Global Innovation Centre of ACWA Power, Saudi Arabia’s leading international power and water developer, and facilitated an in-depth discussion on compressed air energy storage, green hydrogen and potential cooperation in the Middle East’s clean energy market.

The two parties shared insights into their respective technology capabilities, project experience and market resources. Discussions focused on demonstration and validation opportunities for compressed air energy storage, potential cooperation on green hydrogen, and the potential pathways for bringing technologies proven through projects in China to Saudi Arabia and other international markets.

Transphere supported the engagement through initial analysis, stakeholder coordination and meeting facilitation, helping align USEM’s technological strengths with the practical project requirements of an international energy developer.

As an official overseas partner of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Transphere Consulting conducted company outreach and project recommendations across international technology and innovation ecosystems, inviting companies with strong technological capabilities and international growth potential to apply for the SAIL Award, WAIC’s highest honour. Through this work, Transphere further supported connections between international innovation projects and China’s artificial intelligence industry ecosystem.

Transphere supported international companies in understanding the award’s evaluation priorities, application procedures and submission requirements. It also provided application support focused on presenting each company’s technological strengths, application scenarios and commercial value. Following initial screening and ongoing engagement, Transphere supported OxValue in completing its application and successfully securing a place in the SAIL Top 30.

The achievement reflects growing international interest in China’s AI market and innovation platforms, while demonstrating Transphere’s expertise in international project screening and cross-border ecosystem engagement.

As the global AI industry moves further towards practical application and commercialisation, connecting international innovation with Chinese markets, industry partners and deployment scenarios will become increasingly important for cross-regional technology cooperation.

During London Tech Week 2026, Transphere Consulting worked with partners from Shanghai’s innovation ecosystem to conduct targeted research across artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced manufacturing and clean technology. The team also supported on-site business engagement and opportunity screening, helping its partners gain deeper insights into the UK and international technology landscape.

The research focused on companies’ core technologies, product maturity, commercialisation pathways, funding stages and potential for cooperation with the Chinese market. Through direct engagement with founders, technology leaders and innovation organisations, Transphere identified companies with potential for technology partnerships, market expansion, project introduction and joint research and development.

The engagement also demonstrated that the value of international technology events now extends beyond observing emerging trends. Increasingly, it lies in establishing a continuous process of company screening, partnership assessment and project follow-up, enabling initial discussions to develop into actionable cross-border opportunities.

Transphere Consulting participated in the Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade, engaging with government bodies, industrial parks and business representatives on industrial upgrading, international expansion and global innovation cooperation. The team focused on new energy, artificial intelligence, robotics and advanced manufacturing, while gaining a deeper understanding of the overseas development needs of companies in western China.

The event highlighted how western China is building on its industrial foundations, energy resources and manufacturing capabilities to accelerate the development of clean energy equipment, intelligent manufacturing and technology-driven industries.

The discussions indicated that while some companies have already developed strong product and engineering capabilities, many would benefit from more systematic support in target-market research, international partner identification, local operations and global brand positioning.

The engagement demonstrated the potential for stronger links between western Chinese industries and global innovation networks. Transphere Consulting will continue to support regional technology companies through international market insights, industry resource connectivity and local implementation, helping them develop sustainable pathways for global expansion.

On 28 April, Transphere Consulting accompanied a delegation from Széchenyi István University in Hungary on a visit to Fourier Intelligence, an AI robotics company, to explore collaboration opportunities in humanoid robotics, intelligent rehabilitation, artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing.

The delegation included Szilard Bolla, former Consul General of Hungary in Shanghai; Professor Balint Filep, President of Széchenyi István University; Professor Zsolt Kovacs, Chief Operating Officer; Professor Peter Knausz, Chief Information Officer; Professor Istvan Drotar, Director of the Digital Development Centre; and Professor Laszlo Vasa, Director of the Doctoral School.

During the visit, the delegation explored Fourier Intelligence’s GR series humanoid robots, MetaMotus Galileo biomechanics analysis and training system, and RehabHub intelligent rehabilitation solution, gaining first-hand insights into the company’s capabilities in robot design, motion control, human-machine interaction and digital rehabilitation.

The visit laid a foundation for future collaboration in joint research, talent development and application validation.

Transphere Consulting and the China UK Business Development Centre（CUKBDC）have jointly launched the China Going Global Alliance（CGGA）, a strategic platform designed to support Chinese companies expanding into international markets, with the UK positioned as a key gateway to Europe and wider global opportunities.

CGGA is designed as an execution-oriented platform, providing support across international expansion strategy, government and stakeholder engagement, local partnership development, capital connectivity and market expansion.

The alliance will focus on advanced technology and AI, energy transition and sustainable infrastructure, and healthcare and life sciences, with networks across London, Hong Kong, mainland China, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

As the 2026 SAIL Award (Super AI Leader) of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) opens global applications, Transphere Consulting has once again been appointed as the official partner, supporting the international outreach and nomination process for outstanding AI projects worldwide.

Recognised as the highest distinction of WAIC, the SAIL Award identifies artificial intelligence innovations that demonstrate technological breakthroughs, real-world deployment capability, and long-term industrial impact.

Transphere Consulting accompanied Roberto D’Elia, President of the Swiss Humanoid Robotics Association, on a visit to the China National Humanoid Robotics Innovation Centre, facilitating an industry exchange to gain first-hand insights into China’s rapidly evolving humanoid robotics ecosystem.

During the visit, participants explored the Centre’s humanoid robot training facilities, standardised development platforms and clearly defined industrialisation pathways. The exchange provided a practical perspective on how China is translating large-scale engineering capabilities into deployable robotic systems – connecting fundamental research, system integration and real-world applications.

The exchange also highlighted growing opportunities for collaboration between Europe and China in the emerging humanoid robotics sector. As the industry moves from prototype development towards scalable deployment, cross-border cooperation in technology validation, supply chains and application scenarios will become increasingly important.

At the 7th China International Import Expo in Shanghai, Cranial Technologies, the global leader in infant cranial orthotics, officially announced its entry into the China market. Transphere Consulting was invited to visit the APEL Laboratory at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and attended the technology forum themed “Turning Waste into Value · Industrial Upgrading · Bay Area Co-Creation.”, co-organised by the Division of Environment and Sustainability, the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, and the APEL Laboratory at HKUST. The forum focused on the application of multifunctional gels and coating materials in environmental remediation and water purification, highlighting the potential of scientific research in driving green development and industrial upgrading.

Miss Diane Wong Shuk-han, JP, Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology of the HKSAR Government, delivered remarks emphasising the role of policy and research collaboration in advancing sustainable development.

Transphere Consulting, in partnership with the Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Centre and the Anhui Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, successfully hosted a seminar on “Global Pathways for Chinese Food & Catering Brands”.

The event featured insights from representatives of organisations including Hungarian Cherry Investment Group, M&M Group Kft, JIUYE Supply Chain, Chenrui Capital, China Certification & Inspection Group, Shanghai Pandiant FoodTech, and Shanghai Yanshen Import & Export. Discussions focused on food safety and certification, supply chain and cold chain logistics, investment and financing trends, as well as international market expansion and brand building.

The seminar provided actionable insights and a cross-sector platform for collaboration.

Transphere Consulting was invited to visit the National-Local Joint Innovation Centre for Humanoid Robotics in Zhangjiang District, Pudong, Shanghai, for exchanges on the future development and applications of humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence.

The Centre served as China’s first open-source co-creation platform for humanoid robotics and has launched the country’s first heterogeneous humanoid robotics training ground in Zhangjiang. The facility supports training for over one hundred robots covering more than ten scenarios in intelligent manufacturing, public services, and specialised applications, with shared data enhancing capabilities in industry, healthcare, and service sectors.

Transphere Consulting will continue to leverage its strengths in cross-border strategy, capital connectivity, and international collaboration to work with innovation platforms and industry partners, advancing the industrialisation and globalisation of humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence technologies.
